Allison Robin Smith est une artiste et illustratrice professionnelle, basée dans son ancien studio d’écurie à Saint Lazare, Qc. Son travail est très simple, mais la vie ressemble. La nature organique et non concrète du paysage lui libère de l’imagination et lui offre de nombreuses possibilités d’accident heureux et de grâce pour pouvoir influencer le produit fini. Allison travaille à la fois à l’aquarelle et à l’acrylique. Son plus récent corpus intitulé “The Overcast Collection” montre une sensation douce et picturale. La peinture acrylique et les textures aqueuses sont combinées pour représenter une lumière douce, un ciel brumeux et des lignes d’horizon pluvieux. Le jeu d’Allison sur les coups de pinceau directionnels confère à la toile une belle finition semblable à celle du lin, laissant l’imagination vagabonder comme si elle observait une fenêtre parsemée de pluie.
Allison Robin Smith is a professional artist and illustrator, based out of her converted horse stable studio in Saint Lazare, Qc. Her work is very simple, yet life like. The organic and non concrete nature of landscape frees her imagination and provides many opportunities for happy accident and grace to influence the finished product. Allison works with both watercolour and acrylic. Her most recent body of works entitled “The Overcast Collection” demonstrates a soft and painterly feel. Acrylic paint, and watery textures are combined to portray soft light, misty skies and rainy horizon lines. Allison’s play on directional brushstrokes imparts a beautiful linen-like finish to the canvas, leading the imagination to wander like gazing out a rain strewn window.
